1. The last quarter began with tidying up at Tenterden prior to resuming work on Northiam station. Here debris round the restored buffer stop is removed.

2. Spring at Northiam - an evocative scene. Not only do the locomotives and rolling stock need  attention but the building along the line demand continual repair, redecoration and maintenance if the railway is to prosper.

3. In April our first task was to pick up where we had left off with the repairs and painting of the front and ends of Northiam’s station building prior to our January change of location to Tenterden.

5. Ron returns to duty with his son giving a hand to complete the repair and re-instatement of the sash windows at the front of Northiam Station.

6. Oh Dear! What have we uncovered here? Extensive rot around the sash windows prevent the immediate fixing of the new cills in place until other work is done.

7. So the Northiam tea room closes its doors whilst the work is undertaken -  this will entail a lot of Tuesdays.

8. Now this looks better! The new sashes are in place and repairs made to the  surrounding timber work in the tea rooms kitchen area.

10. Some of us would like to think we are ranked with the great and good - gentlemen and ‘hocifers”! Humph and Mark turn their attention to the repaired canopy supports after completing the next coat on windows and doors. Will this job ever end we wonder !

12. Out in force: Doors and frames as well as the canopy valance gets liberally coated with fresh, bright paint. Don’t stand under the ladders!

14. On early summer Tuesdays regular visitors to the platform were a pair of great tits whose nest was inside the platform scales. What a lesson in diligence they were... so we better get back to the painting lads!

22. Now for something completely different - still at Northiam. Ian starts on repairing and painting the platform seats - a long and fiddly task. Meanwhile Graham and Mark start on the 100s of metres of platform white line.

23. A long delayed task - replacing a broken wooden bollard alongside the station car park. First dig it out - Robin, Ron and Ian choose a nice hot day to start this task.
