Work at Bodiam station during January 2009 has been dominated by the weather. First we had the cold but dry interlude that enabled us to work outside but painting could only be undertaken inside. Then the wet weather set in meaning that floods and soggy ground were the order of the day. This was to last to the end of the month.

Welcome
ENGLAND'S FINEST RURAL LIGHT RAILWAY

The Kent & East Sussex Railway is the country's finest example of a rural light railway. The line gently wends its way from Tenterden - "The Jewel of The Weald" for ten and a half miles, through the unspoilt countryside of the Rother Valley, to terminate in the shadow of the magnificent National Trust castle at Bodiam.

Whether you are interested in heritage, shopping, nature, food and drink, or recreation, there is always something to enjoy when visiting the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

Tenterden and Northiam are situated on the A28 between Ashford and Hastings and both stations have spacious car parks which are free all day for our passengers. Please note that there is no parking at Bodiam Station so passengers are advised to park and ride from Tenterden or Northiam.
