The end of a 3 year story as the Birdcage Coach is prepared finally for it’s first run. The pullman car Bar-bara now takes its place at the Robertsbridge end of the C&W shed. How about joining the C&W volunteers to help make other long-term dreams come true.

The winter months see the downgrading of long-term projects to second place whilst the servicing of the operating fleet takes priority.

This quarter’s marks the change in seasons from the bright colours of summer to Autumn decline and bonfire tidy-ups as the running season comes to an end.

We start this quarter’s update at Northiam Station after many months working at Wittersham Rd.

The pace of life in the Carriage & Wagon shed is more fitted to the marathon than the sprint. The Gardening group has continued its activities despite the weather and despite the slim size of the group. Keeping gardens looking good requires constant effort. Could you come and help us? Meg has begun the lettering on the carriage exterior as Julian fits another door handle on the Ashford No. 2947 Coach. This quarter’s sequence of pictures includes other workers in the Carriage and Wagon shed - many of them volunteers. This quarter has seen a change in the centre of operations from Wittersham Rd back to Northiam Station with of course the usual trip out to jobs on other places up and down the line to repair, renovate and add new items. The Railway would love volunteers for a second team meeting on a different day. How about it then? Read about the sorts of things we do.

PERFECT FOR A FAMILY FUN DAY OUT .... A chance to meet Thomas and Friends, a one hour return train ride. Regular " Annie and Clarabel" rides at the Station, full daily programme of childrens events, face painting, giant jack-in-the-box bouncy castle, roundabout rides and an 'N' gauge model railway layout. Refreshments at the station buffet and static tram as well as our hotdog/beefburger marquee.
